Casting Call
A verbatim theatre project from Alright Mate? CIC
Alright Mate? is casting for Car Share, a verbatim theatre project aimed at exploring men's mental health issues. R&D and rehearsals will take place at Combeinteignhead Village Hall.
Project Overview:
Car Share is a new site-specific touring theatre piece set within a car, staging performances in non-traditional spaces such as car parks, pubs, tattoo parlours, and shopping centres in Devon.
We will be asking men to take part in recorded interviews to help us create the script for this new show exploring men’s mental health.
About Alright Mate?
Alright Mate? is an award winning non profit arts organisation making participatory art projects which normalise men’s conversations about mental health in safe, familiar environments.
As boys, men have been told to ‘man up’ and openly talking about feelings isn’t encouraged, so generally they avoid starting the conversation. We want to raise awareness of these issues by sharing men’s lived experience so we can get to a point where talking about how you feel becomes something that can be done openly and without judgement.
